Rick Kiley’s career began in Fortune 500 company sales, marketing and new business development with General Mills and Kraft Foods. In fact, as far back as college, he was a factory foreman with Kraft Foods’ Oscar Mayer unit, in our gThankYou home town of Madison, Wisconsin.
Later, his entrepreneurial ventures began with early stage companies developing groundbreaking innovations in food technology and supply chain management, eventually leading to successful turnarounds for troubled organizations.
Subsequently, as a manager and entrepreneur, Rick became passionate about meaningful, affordable ways to appreciate employees. And in short, has become committed to great customer service, nurturing effective workplace teams and building vibrant companies based on gratitude.

gThankYou’s very first Certificate of Gratitude was our Turkey Gift Certificate, good for any brand, size or preparation of whole turkey, (such as Butterball®, Norbest®, HoneySuckle®, Trader Joes®, Whole Foods® Organic, or any other), from major U.S. grocery stores.
The Turkey Gift Certificate was the first because, as so many know, the gift of a company holiday turkey has been a business tradition for over a century. It’s a uniquely American tradition and a gift that’s enjoyed by everyone during Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season.
However, maintaining this tradition hasn’t always been easy. Distributing whole, frozen turkeys to a large workplace is very inconvenient and quite a daunting task. Employers must figure out how to purchase, store and handle frozen turkeys. In addition, on the receiving side, employees must make room in their freezer or take delivery at an inconvenient time. Not to mention, the turkey could be the wrong size, too small for the employee’s holiday dinner or too large for the oven.
A Solution
Recognizing these logistical and employee recognition challenges, gThankYou was created. This made turkey gift-giving much easier for employers and better for employees, who can now select the turkey that’s best for their family, when and where they want to buy it.
