Donald Driver Foundation Overview
The Donald Driver Foundation was founded by NFL legend Donald Driver and his wife, Betina in 2021 and is dedicated to displaying Strong Hands, Strong Minds, and Loving Hearts to serve as a hand up, not a hand out. The Donald Driver Foundation specializes in providing underprivileged children and families with the necessary resources to succeed through the hosting of multiple events throughout the year.
Donald Driver Annual Turkey Trot
The Donald Driver Annual Turkey Trot is a charitable event hosted annually to assemble and distribute holiday meal boxes to families in need. It’s a part of the foundation’s broader efforts to support the community through various initiatives.

The Challenge
Distributing frozen turkeys to hundreds of families at a community event poses major logistical challenges—storage, transport, and timing all require substantial resources. For the 2025 Turkey Trot, the Foundation looked for a more efficient, scalable way to get food to families while maintaining the joy and community spirit of the event.
The Solution: Strategic Partnership with gThankYou
The Foundation partnered with gThankYou to replace frozen turkey distribution with grocery gift certificates. This solution allowed recipients to purchase turkeys—and fresh fruits and vegetables—on their own schedule, at a store of their choice.
Program Execution
Rather than handing out heavy frozen goods, volunteers distributed goodie bags filled with gift certificates and other resources. The simplified logistics created space for more meaningful interactions—more meet-and-greets, more family photos, and more time with Donald Driver himself.
Results and Feedback
The event was a success both operationally and emotionally. Staff noted that food distribution was easier than ever, and families appreciated the flexibility of choosing their own food when it was convenient for them.
