Show Your Appreciation: Send a Thank You Note Today!

Few things are as meaningful as a handwritten note of thanks. Simple expressions of gratitude such as “I appreciate you” or “Well done!” can make huge impacts in our lives and our workplaces. This weekend, we celebrated National Send a Card to a Friend Day. It’s a great reminder that it’s always a good time to celebrate friends, colleagues, and employees with a thoughtful thank you note.

• Recognize employees for their hard-work, loyalty and accomplishments
  
• Tell co-workers how much you enjoy working with them
• Don’t forget family and friends—tell them how much they mean to you!

Buffini suggests making a habit of writing a few personal notes of thanks every day. He also offers an infographic, “Top 6 reasons to write personal notes,” to provide inspiration.

Incidentally, notes Coleman, studies show that people who express gratitude benefit by experiencing better health and sleep, less anxiety, and more life satisfaction. And, believe it or not, these health benefits are experienced by both giver and receiver. It’s the great thing about gratitude – it’s contagious and makes everyone feel good!
