In “What is your top new year’s resolution in business for 2015?” Cleveland.com polls readers on what’s most important to them. Take the poll and vote for your top priority resolution! When we checked in, the most popular resolution was “process improvements” at 32%, followed by “managing work/life balance better” at 24%, and then “focusing on customer service” at 20%.

Chuck Cohn, CEO and founder of Varsity Tutors lists three “Business New Year’s Resolutions Every CEO Should Make” in a Forbes article.

Business Insider lists prominent business people’s resolutions for this year in “20 Super-Successful People Share Their New Year’s Resolution,” including the following:
Billionaire serial entrepreneur Fred Mouawad wants to manage his time better.
“I want to keep one third of my time unscheduled to dream about how each company in my portfolio can innovate and make the world it touches a better place,” he explains. “As a serial entrepreneur managing multiple companies, it’s very important that I manage my time with discipline, sort the priorities, and leave plenty of time to think strategically about how to maximize value.”
Tradesy founder and CEO Tracy DiNunzio resolves to promote diversity in the tech industry.
“My New Year’s resolution for 2015 is to promote more diversity in tech, within Tradesy and the larger tech community.”
“My New Year’s resolution is to find new ways to challenge myself professionally. I will set monthly goals, network with my peers, and share my experiences via social media along the way.”
Founder and CEO of Credit Karma Ken Lin wants to be more focused at work.
“I’d love to be able to, from a business perspective, learn how to focus on doing two or three things really well on a daily basis instead of being everywhere.”

- Identify Your Readiness to Change.
Think through what it will take to keep your resolutions before you commit to them.
- Believe You Can Do It.
Try writing down all the evidence that suggests you’ll be able to reach your goals and read the list frequently to remind yourself.
- Think Constructively About Setbacks.
When carrying out any strategy there’s always one or two setbacks. Anticipate that, learn from them, adjust, and keep your eyes on the end result.
- Build Mental Strength.
Just like physical strength requires ongoing exercise, so does mental strength.
Morin, a psychotherapist and the author of 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do, concludes:
“Rather than spend all your time thinking about what your resolution will be, focus on the strategies that will help you stay on track. Decide to make 2015 about creating a new you, complete with a plan that will help you stick to your goals throughout the year.”
